When Jan Bares met Argentine tango he arranged for his fellow students a weekly practice in the Fairport Ballroom Dance Studio. The Grand Opening was on Sunday, March 10, 1996. All six of us were present! This first weekly practice survived till the present and is now run by the DancEncounters studio in Rochester. In 1999 Jan started the every Wednesday milonga where he teaches the class and DJ's. By appointment, he teaches other tango classes and workshops. Since 1998 Jan visited Buenos Aires 9 times. The teachers that influenced him most were Daniel Trenner, Pablo Veron, Lorena Ermocida, Luciana Valle, Gustavo Naveira, Fabian Salas, Chicho, Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Mauricio Castro and Pablo Inza.
